A leading aggregates and building materials producer in Ontario is seeking a Plant Operator for a permanent, full-time position based in Orillia, Ontario.
The organization operates multiple sand, gravel, and quarry sites across Southern Ontario and is part of a larger North American construction materials group supporting major infrastructure development.
This role supports plant operations in a heavy industrial environment focused on aggregates production and equipment handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and follow strict site safety procedures, including inspections and hazard reporting
- Operate heavy equipment such as loaders and skid steers, along with other plant machinery (training provided)
- Perform basic maintenance on plant equipment (e.g., greasing, screen changes, equipment movement)
- Work collaboratively with site staff, contractors, and customers
- Carry out additional operational duties as required
Qualifications
- Motivated, reliable, and willing to learn on the job
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding industrial environment
- Able to work 12-hour shifts (typically early morning start)
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and reliable transportation required
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- Able to work with minimal supervision
