Position Summary
A growing industrial and utility-focused electrical solutions provider is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to support project bidding and cost estimation across electrical panels, components, and utility/industrial automation projects.
This role plays a key part in developing competitive proposals and supporting continued growth in the utility, transmission & distribution, and industrial electrical sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and track RFPs/RFQs and bidding opportunities across client and procurement portals
- Ensure registration and compliance across relevant vendor and procurement platforms
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and client requirements
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems, panels, and utility-related projects (materials, labour, subcontractors)
- Source and obtain pricing from vendors and suppliers
- Prepare and submit complete bid packages, including supporting documentation and schedules
- Assess project risks and account for pricing fluctuations
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and project teams to ensure estimate accuracy
- Track submissions and support client follow-ups and bid debriefs
- Participate in site visits when required to assess project conditions
- Maintain approved vendor lists and evaluate alternative suppliers
- Improve and optimize estimation models and Excel-based costing tools
- Maintain opportunity tracking and CRM data (HubSpot or equivalent)
- Keep proposal templates updated and standardized
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years experience as an Electrical Estimator in industrial, utility, or electrical panel environments
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, panels, and utility infrastructure projects
- Experience with RFP/RFQ processes and vendor pricing negotiations
- Advanced proficiency in Excel for costing and estimation models
- Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot or similar)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and coordinate across multiple teams
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $55,000 – $70,000 CAD annually
