Software Developer – Nuclear Systems

An advanced engineering and technology organization is seeking a Software Developer to support the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions for nuclear and safety-critical systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, problem-solving, and systems integration, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams in a highly technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications for nuclear and industrial systems
• Support development of reactor control, monitoring, and operational software solutions
• Collaborate with engineering, controls, and systems teams to integrate software with complex hardware environments
• Participate in software verification, validation, debugging, and troubleshooting activities
• Ensure compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and software specifications
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and software lifecycle management
• Work independently and collaboratively within remote or distributed technical teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience
• Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, Java, or similar languages
• Experience with software testing, debugging, and version control practices
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in collaborative engineering environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in nuclear, industrial automation, aerospace, defence, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with control systems, embedded software, or real-time systems
• Knowledge of software quality assurance, safety standards, or cybersecurity practices
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering project teams
